Community-rooted, Professionally Led, and Built to Strengthen Healthcare Systems on the Islands
AIHI was founded by American Pacific Islanders, born and raised on the U.S. Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands.
We are Chamorros whose personal roots, families, and lived experience on the islands shaped our commitment to give back to the home that raised us. This connection gives our work a purpose beyond healthcare delivery. We understand that strong healthcare systems are essential to the strength, stability, and future of island communities.
We believe meaningful healthcare improvement is achieved with communities, not for them.
AIHI is committed to listening first, respecting local leadership and culture, supporting existing healthcare organizations, and bringing together the clinical, operational, technological, financial, and community resources needed to create lasting improvement.
Our goal is simple: Healthier people, stronger healthcare systems, and more resilient island communities for generations to come.

AIHI’s Advisory Council brings together experienced professionals, community leaders, and subject-matter experts who share a commitment to strengthening healthcare access and outcomes in island and underserved communities. Council members are selected not only for their professional experience, but also for the perspective, integrity, and commitment they bring to the communities AIHI seeks to support. Their professional backgrounds span healthcare delivery, public health, government, business, technology, finance, education, community development, and other disciplines that influence the health and resilience of island populations. This provides strategic insight, professional expertise, and local perspective that helps AIHI remain responsive to the communities we serve.
*Advisory Council participation is invitation/selection-based to help maintain the Council's professional stature and governance-adjacent role. If your experience aligns with our vision and you would like to champion our cause, we invite you to apply for Advisory Council consideration.
